The Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group
Supporting Every Woman in Sarawak Facing Breast Cancer
We are a survivor-led community dedicated to providing emotional, social, and educational support so that no woman faces this journey alone.

Over 15 years of dedicated service, reaching thousands of women through rural outreach and community education.
Art and charity came together in Kuching through the “Caring Through Art” Charity Art Exhibition and Workshop, organised by the Malaysia Women Artists Association, East Malaysia Region ❤️
The exhibition features works by six talented female artists, with part of the proceeds from artwork sales going to the Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group.
The programme was officiated by Kho Teck Wan 许德婉, Political Secretary to the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, highlighting how creativity can go beyond the canvas and make a meaningful difference in the community.
The event also shows how art can bring people together while supporting cancer patients and the wider community. Special thanks to Pullman Kuching for sponsoring the venue and refreshments for the opening event.
Would you support more art exhibitions that combine creativity with charity?

When Treatment Takes You Far From Home
Last night, we welcomed a family from Sibu to check in at Anjung Sayang, the halfway home established by the Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group (SBCSG) to provide temporary accommodation for outstation cancer patients receiving treatment at healthcare facilities in Kuching.
Among them is Puan Tura Anak Kiroh, who was diagnosed with brain cancer and underwent surgery at Hospital Sibu last year. Unfortunately, the tumour could not be completely removed as it was located very close to the optic nerve and nose. She now needs radiotherapy to treat the remaining tumour.
For many people, cancer treatment is not only a medical journey, it can also be a financial and emotional challenge.
Radiotherapy facilities are only available in Kuching within Sarawak, which means patients from towns and rural areas may have to travel long distances and stay in Kuching for weeks or even months.
Puan Tura’s radiotherapy treatment is expected to take around 30 days. For a patient travelling with two caregivers, renting a house or staying in a hotel for a month could become a significant financial burden.
Thankfully, they now have Anjung Sayang. ❤️
Located near Sarawak General Hospital, Anjung Sayang provides them with a safe and comfortable place to stay at no cost while Puan Tura undergoes her treatment.
This is one of the initiatives we are committed to as a Society, not only supporting cancer patients, but also reaching out to communities, particularly rural communities, through health screening, breast cancer screening and HPV screening to encourage early detection and save lives.
Every initiative we carry out is rooted in one simple belief:
At SBCSG, we believe that no one should have to face cancer alone. Every patient deserves care, dignity, compassion and support throughout their journey. ❤️
For Puan Tura and her family, we hope Anjung Sayang can be more than just a place to stay.
We hope it can be a place where they find comfort, strength and a little more hope each day.
